3. Description of auxiliary equipment
LUXEON Rebel devices are soldered to reliability stress board that can accommodate up to 160 devices. LUXEON Rebel LEDs are connected in
series strings of up to 20 devices and driven by a constant current source for each series string. Reliability stress boards are mounted in a thermal
chamber which provides water-cooling to the bottom-side of the reliability stress board. The reliability stress board is periodically removed from
the thermal chamber, allowed to cool to room temperature, and then re-tested.
The tester consists of a computer-controlled x-y table, integrating sphere, programmable current-source meter, and relay switching-matrix. Each
LUXEON Rebel is positioned underneath the integrating sphere, and driven with a constant-current pulse. Luminous flux, (u’, v’), and forward
voltage are measured for each LUXEON Rebel. After testing, the reliability stress board is returned to the thermal chamber for additional operation
